Young Minds

26 Feb

I had a blast speaking to the Isle of Wight’s annual Young Chamber Conference. Two hundred school children – from 14 to 18 – networking away like they were born to it. Several island businesses spent the day sharing their top tips on how to get ahead in the world of work. The organisers had a big surprise up their sleeves – an appearance by island band, Empress.  That was a hard act to follow. My alphabet soup speech went from F – for feel the fear and do it anyway; H – for have a go; A – for ask for what you want and R – for reinvent yourself.  The kids made for a wonderfully interactive audience. I should have ended with G – for Go for it!

Thank you to Nisha for bringing such inspiration to our event, not the usual speech that many guest speakers bring to conferences, you engaged the audience exactly what we needed for our young people. The business people and students alike had nothing but positive comments to make.
